Why Uber Stock Rose Off Its 52-Week Low as Q3 Earnings Near – UBER Analysis
- Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) closed on 2 November 2026 at $66.71, down 0.01% on the day and two sessions after a low of $64.04. 1,2
- Q3 2026 results land before the US open on 4 November, against company guidance of $58.25 billion to $60.25 billion in Gross Bookings. 1,3
- At $66.71, Uber stock sat 18.36% below its 31 December 2025 close of $81.71. 4
Uber stock closed Monday at $66.71, up 2.24% and $2.67 clear of the 52-week low it hit on 29 October. 1,2 By midday the bounce had stretched to an intraday high of $67.47. 2 The afternoon then handed back about a third of it; for a ride-hailing stock, it looked a lot like a detour.
As of the US close at 21:00 (UTC) on 2 November, or 05:00 (GMT+8) on 3 November 2026, the Uber stock price today stood at $66.71 on the New York Stock Exchange chart used for this analysis, with a 52-week range of $64.04 to $100.35. 1,5
Monday says more by what it didn’t do. This Uber stock analysis looks at why Uber company stock rose into earnings, why it then lost its nerve, and what the gap between Uber’s growth and its revenue line means for Wednesday.
Why Uber Stock Rose: The Short Answer
Uber stock rose 2.24% to $66.71 on 2 November 2026, bouncing off a $64.04 52-week low two sessions before Q3 earnings. The gain faded into the close, with robotaxi competition still the dominant worry and Q2 Mobility bookings up 22% against Mobility revenue up 1%.
What the Uber Stock Chart Showed on Monday

Here’s the Uber stock chart in plain terms. On the 1-hour view, the chart displays Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE) price action spanning from October through November 3, showing the stock recently trading around $66.71.
On the 1-hour view, the stock opened the visible window near $70.00 in early October and slipped down to touch a low of $64.42 on October 29. It then surged about $1.75 in a single hourly candle heading into November.
The 14-period Relative Strength Index (RSI) in the TradingView setup used for this analysis fell to about 24.50 on October 28, its lowest reading on the chart. Price recovered towards $67.50 by November 2, slid to a recent low of $66.42, then closed the final candle at $66.71, with the RSI sitting at 57.34.
The moving averages fill in the rest of the technical analysis picture. The 200-period moving average (MA) on the 1-hour chart sloped lower throughout the month and read $68.56 at the close, just above price; the 50-period MA read $66.11, just below. Finishing between the two reads to me as a recovery that stopped short of the earlier trend, not a reversal of it.
A chart can show the shape of the hesitation. It can’t show what the hesitation is about.
Why Is Uber Stock Down This Year? Robotaxis
Zoom out and the Uber stock news has been heavy going. Uber Technologies stock is down 18.36% this year from its 31 December 2025 close of $81.71, 4 and most coverage pins that on autonomous vehicles.
Robotaxi operators such as Alphabet’s Waymo, Tesla, and Zoox are scaling their own services, and the worry is that they won’t need Uber’s network to find riders. 6 That worry sharpened in July, when Yahoo Finance, citing a Bloomberg report, said Waymo could walk away from its Uber partnership; the shares slid nearly 5%. 7
Smart Cities Dive has since reported that Waymo is expected to end the tie-up in Atlanta and Austin in 2028. 6 Vantage hasn’t independently verified these reports.
Uber’s answer has been to spend: Smart Cities Dive reported a $10 billion commitment to autonomous vehicles, with fleet deals including Rivian, Lucid, and Nuro. 6 Frank McCleary, a partner at consultancy Arthur D. Little, said Uber is “trying to protect their business”. 13
Management has put its own money in too. Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi purchased shares on 10 September 2026 at $70.73 to $71.18, per his Form 4; 8 Monday’s close sat 5.68% below that range.
That’s the narrative case. Wednesday is when it meets Uber’s own numbers.
Uber Stock Earnings: The Gap Inside the Numbers
This is the part of the Uber stock earnings story I’d watch most closely. For Q3 2026, Uber guided to Gross Bookings of $58.25 billion to $60.25 billion and Non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $0.84 to $0.88. 3 The Zacks consensus puts Gross Bookings at $59.70 billion, near the middle of that range. 14
In plain terms: Gross Bookings are the total value of rides and orders, while revenue is the slice Uber books as its own. In Q2, Mobility Gross Bookings rose 22% and trips grew 18%, yet Mobility revenue rose just 1%. 3 Uber’s release pointed to business model changes weighing on reported revenue. 3 The footnote did a lot of the driving.
Consensus expects the same shape again: Mobility Gross Bookings of $29.96 billion, 19.3% above the year-ago $25.11 billion, against Mobility revenue of $7.83 billion, up 1.9%. 14 The 19.3% is a Vantage calculation from those figures.
Mobility bookings grew 22% in Q2 while Mobility revenue grew 1%. That gap, more than any robotaxi headline, is the line on the table for Wednesday.
Uber Q3 2026: Guidance vs Consensus vs a Year Ago
| Metric | Uber Guidance | Consensus | Q3 2025 Actual |
| Gross Bookings | $58.25B to $60.25B 3 | $59.70B 14 | $49.74B 9 |
| Mobility Gross Bookings | Not Guided | $29.96B 14 | $25.11B 14 |
| Revenue | Not Guided | $14.67B to $14.74B 14,16 | $13.47B 9 |
| Non-GAAP EPS | $0.84 to $0.88 3 | $0.864 16 | About $0.65 (Implied) 3 |
| GAAP Diluted EPS | Not Guided | $0.94 14 | $3.11 16 |
| Adjusted EBITDA | $2.86B to $2.96B 3 | Not Compiled | $2.3B 9 |
Table 1: Uber Q3 2026 Guidance, Consensus, and Year-Ago Figures. Sources: Uber SEC Filings, Zacks via Yahoo Finance, and MarketBeat, accessed on 3 November 2026. The year-ago Non-GAAP EPS is implied from guided growth of 28% to 35%.
That table is why the headline EPS needs care. The $0.94 GAAP consensus sits 69.8% below last year’s $3.11, 14 but Q3 2025 included a $4.9 billion one-off gain from a tax valuation release. 9 Most of that 69.8% fall is last year’s tax line, not this year’s rides.
On Uber’s own Non-GAAP basis, the guided range implies growth of 28% to 35%. 3 So when a headline calls Wednesday’s number a ‘beat’ or a ‘miss’, check which EPS it means.
Knowing which number is which helps. So does knowing what the Street expects.
Uber Stock Forecast: What Analysts Expect

Vantage doesn’t publish an Uber stock price prediction, but the Street’s earnings forecasts are worth knowing. BofA analyst Justin Post expects Non-GAAP EPS of $0.91 against the $0.86 consensus, according to TipRanks, 11 and Wells Fargo said it expects strong Q3 results with accelerating US mobility volumes. 12
On the bigger picture, Guggenheim analyst Taylor Manley said there are “few Internet companies” of Uber’s scale. 12
On the Uber stock rating and Uber stock price target, the gap with the tape is hard to miss. TipRanks reported a Strong Buy consensus rating and an average price target of $102.84, 11 and Barchart counted 33 Strong Buy ratings among the 45 analysts it tracks. 15 The analysts and the share price appear to be reading different charts.
On Uber stock valuation, Barchart’s 2026 EPS consensus of $3.20 15 puts Monday’s close at about 20.8 times this year’s expected earnings, a Vantage calculation and not a verdict.
Forecasts are one input. The stock’s own reaction history is another.
Uber’s Post-Earnings Track Record
Uber stock finished lower in the session after earnings in 8 of its last 12 quarters, with an average move of 5.4% either way, according to Schaeffer’s. 1 That’s roughly 2.4 times Monday’s gain, and it describes past sessions, not the direction of the next one. In August, Uber guided Q3 EPS slightly below consensus and the shares fell 5.9% that morning. 5
Timing matters if you’re in Asia. Uber’s Q2 release came out at 06:55 ET, ahead of an 08:00 ET call. 3,10 If Q3 follows the same pattern, that’s 19:55 and 21:00 (GMT+8) on 4 November, with the US open at 22:30 (GMT+8). For Asia-based readers, the numbers may well arrive around dinner, and our earnings news today coverage tracks the release as it lands.
With the calendar set, here’s where the chart left things.
Uber Stock Levels Traders Are Watching
The table lists reference levels from Monday’s session and the past week. They’re points for reading the chart, not trade signals.

What to Watch Into 4 November
If you’re following Uber stock news today into the print, these are the lines I’d keep on screen.
- Gross Bookings, 4 November: The print against the guided $58.25 billion to $60.25 billion range and the $59.70 billion consensus. 3,14
- Mobility Revenue, 4 November: Whether it stays far below Mobility bookings growth, as it did in Q2. 3
- Q4 Guidance, 4 November: The outlook line drew the sharpest reaction in August. 5
- What Would Change the Read: A narrower gap between Mobility bookings and revenue would ease the concern that reported numbers lag the platform’s growth; a wider one would sharpen it.
Uber Stock FAQs
Uber Stock Buy or Sell: Is Uber Stock a Buy Before Earnings?
Readers asking ‘is Uber a good stock to buy’ won’t get a yes or no here: Vantage doesn’t make buy or sell calls, and the answer depends on each reader’s objectives and risk. What’s on record: 33 of the 45 analysts tracked by Barchart rate it Strong Buy, 15 while the share price sat near a 52-week low as of 2 November 2026. 1
What Is the Uber Stock Ticker?
The Uber stock symbol is UBER, often written as $UBER stock on social feeds. 3 Whether you search the Uber stock NYSE quote, the Uber New York Stock Exchange listing, or a stock quote Uber page, it’s the same ticker, and an Uber stock quote is also available among Vantage’s US shares.
When Is the Uber Stock Earnings Date?
Uber reports Q3 2026 results before the US open on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. 1 In GMT+8, that’s the evening of 4 November, so holders of Uber stocks in Asia meet the news before bedtime rather than at breakfast.
Earnings Gap Risk Around Uber’s Release
Monday opened with a bounce off a 52-week low and closed with a third of it handed back. I read the chart as hesitation rather than a verdict. Wednesday’s release, with its bookings, its Mobility revenue line, and its tax-distorted EPS comparison, is where that hesitation meets the numbers.
Earnings are among the events most associated with overnight price gaps in single stocks, and Uber’s 5.4% average post-earnings move gives a sense of scale. 1 Because the release lands before the US open, Uber stock today can close one way and open well away from it tomorrow. A stop-loss order limits losses to a planned size in normal trading, but in a gap it can fill at the first available price; Vantage’s guide to slippage and price gaps shows how, and our risk management coverage goes further.
For anyone trading Uber through a leveraged share CFD, leverage magnifies gains and losses alike; it is a double-edged tool, not a feature. In proportional terms, a 5% move against a position held at 1:5 leverage equals 25% of the margin committed to it. Sizing positions as a share of account equity is a core money management habit ahead of an event like this.
RISK WARNING: CFDs are complex financial instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should ensure you fully understand the risks involved and carefully consider whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money before trading.
