A stock represents an ownership interest in a specific company, while an ETF is a fund that generally holds a collection of assets. An ETF can therefore provide exposure to multiple securities or other assets through a single listed instrument. When traded as a CFD, neither the ETF nor its underlying holdings are owned by the CFD trader.
